Protein Helps With Longevity

A new study sheds light on the association of branched-chain amino acids (BCAA) and longer life. Middle-aged mice given a high-BCAA diet were found to have their life spans increased by an average of 12 percent.

There is evidence that, by supplementing our own diets with BCAA, humans could achieve similar results. The oxidation and metabolic activity examined in this study is regulated by the same mechanism in both species. This could add another 10 healthy years to our lives..
