While we’re tempted to eat cookies, cakes and chips while working from home, it is never a good idea, especially during this time when you need your immune system at most.

Like I discussed in my previous article on immune system and vitamins, it is nearly impossible to find immune boosting supplements such as Vitamin C, zinc and elderberry anywhere and how important it is to address our physical and psychological stress. Eating junk puts a huge toll on our stress handing ability but even a normal day-to-day life causes inflammatory and immune stresses that we need to learn to address.

In this article I want to discuss the nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, herbs, nutrients and botanicals and what to get.

Fat soluble vitamin

Vitamin A, D, E and K help to support gastrointestinal and lung immune health and have many other benefits, such as:

  • Support the immune system, by protecting lung and gastrointestinal barrier
  • Help maintain healthy cell function
  • Powerful antioxidants combination of vitamins A and E
  • Support immune mechanisms, vision, and cell growth and development
  • Support musculoskeletal system, muscle, bone and skin health

Chelated minerals

Minerals such as Zinc, Magnesium, Selenium, Copper, Molybdenum, Chromium, Potassium, Iodine and Manganese are vitally important for all functions of human body, immune system included. Many things deplete minerals, amongst them is stress, poor diet, inflammation and acidity and improperly balanced vegetarian or vegan diets.

For example, 30mg of zinc is recommended to promote the healthy function of T and B-cells and other immune cells to efficiently and effectively fight pathogens such as COVID19.

Vitamin B Complex

Numerous studies show decrease in B vitamin during chronic stress, taking certain medications, and poor diet and inflammation. B vitamins are essential for a healthy adrenal function and immune functions as well as hundreds of other essential bodily processes. But B vitamins are tricky because if they’re not taken in their coenzymated form, it requires your body to phosphorylate them (put them through additional processes in the liver) in order to make them biochemical active.

Antioxidant/Anti-inflammatory Support

Nutrients such as Quercetin, Resveratrol, Lycopene, N-Acetyl Carnitine, Pine Bark and Pomegranate, Green Tea Extracts have a powerful immune modulatory effect on the immune system. Quercetin for example decreases inflammation in the air passages such as sinuses, throat and lungs. Resveratrol, improves cellular signaling in response to stimuli, such as stress, growth factors, and cytokines, supports metabolic effects likened to calorie restriction, and supports the immune and gastrointestinal systems.

PurevitaMD Men’s and Women’s formula is a supplement I personally developed that combines all those ingredients in one product. While free of fillers, flow agents and preservatives, it’s 100% non-GMO, vegan and Kosher. It took me over 5 years to make it because I couldn’t find a right manufacturer who I knew wasn’t going to compromise its quality and purity. But even after finding the right one, it still took years to have the final product in hand. Currently on sale at 20% discount.

Stay healthy and strong,
